Welcome to Ruth Moloney Art
Ruth Moloney is an Irish artist specialising in oil paintings of seascapes and bathers among other themes. Her vibrant colour palette and unique loose style reflects the movement and beauty of her subjects while each piece tells its own story.
Her fine art archival pigment prints are based on her original oil paintings which have been created mostly using the impasto palette knife technique. Each print is mounted, framed and ready to hang. All prints are signed and titled by Ruth.

My work is
My work is a vibrant expression of myself and how I feel about my surroundings.
My style is
I am self taught. I adore vibrant colour and expressive marks and that is reflected in my style. I often paint with my fingers (like a child!) but also work with palette knives and brushes. I like to experiment with different styles and textures. I feel very drawn to ‘suggestion’, movement and colour and I try not to take it too seriously! I want my art to be joyful.
My inspiration is
I find inspiration all around me. I am inspired every day by the talented artists who post their work on Irish Artist Facebook pages. There is such an amazing amount of hidden talent out there. And my biggest inspiration is observing the blossoming talent of my own daughter as she progresses every day in her passion for digital art.
About Ruth Moloney
Ruth’s journey through art has been like any great voyage, full of ups and downs and swings and roundabouts!
Having developed a love of art and expression as a child and from her studies in school, Ruth took a sideways move into a similar creative world as a leading marketing and advertising specialist but has always enjoyed art as a hobby and a form of theraputic expression.
Ruth kept her art fueled throughout her life while committing to a busy career and raising two small children. She is now a full time artist working from her home studio in Dublin. Her original art can be found in some of Dublin’s top galleries and available in print format in Kilkenny Design.
